February 14, 2023 at 6:45PM: Blaine “liked” Remy’s photo of her sitting on a hospital bed at work on Hinge. (Remy says: “Someone was lonely on Valentine’s Day…”)

February 23, 2023: Remy responded days later in her typical fashion.

March 26, 2023: Our first date was at Muchacho’s in Preston Center. See below in Blaine’s version of “How We Met” to see why it took so long for them to go on a date—he loves to tell his version!

April 1, 2023: They hit it off immediately and by the third date, Remy knew she had found something special.

April 13, 2023: They officially started dating when Blaine called Remy his girlfriend in passing. She proceeded to ask Blaine to actually and officially ask her to be his girlfriend… again, in true Remy fashion. This is what Remy’s mom, Andrea, calls when they “made it Facebook official,” although they did not, in fact, make it official on Facebook.

The next year and a half flew by with many trips to see friends, country concerts, date nights out and at home, and anniversary dinners at Del Frisco’s!

December 2024: Blaine and Remy got their energetic puppy, Ivy, as a Christmas gift from Blaine to Remy. Remy was absolutely surprised for perhaps the first time in her entire life. Ivy quickly picked Blaine as her favorite owner and the two are inseparable.

April 5, 2025: Blaine asked Terry, Remy’s dad, the big question in the IKEA parking lot in Frisco after an afternoon of day drinking and shopping for Andrea’s birthday. Remy and Andrea were looking at .75 plastic kitchen utensils and picking out new welcome mats.

June 14, 2025: Blaine FINALLY popped the long-awaited question during a “family photoshoot with Ivy” in Trenton, TX in the prettiest field of wildflowers. Remy, of course, said yes without any hesitation!

June 14, 2025: After taking some freshly-engaged photos and popping champagne, Blaine and Remy proceeded to drive where she squealed, took photos, and Facetimed friends until they pulled up at Blaine’s mother’s house in Westminster, TX. When they got out, Remy saw vehicles and silhouettes of their closest friends and family inside and immediately burst into tears.

June 14, 2025: They went on to have the most perfect night of their entire lives as Remy says—that is, until May 2, 2026! There was food, cake, photos, gifts, decorations, sashes, and so much joy as the new future Urbans soaked in all it was to be engaged with their people!

Now let’s do it again!

HOW WE MET

& First Impressions

Blaine:

We met on the sidewalk outside of Muchachos. Remy was a couple minutes late, of course. We talked a lot during dinner and I guess Remy has a nervous tick where she kicks her leg. Well, all dinner Remy kicked my shin thinking it was the table leg. My first impression of Remy was that she likes to talk and has a story about everything. I left the first date with bruises on my shin and knowing she was special.

Remy:

When I asked Blaine to write about “How We Met,” I should’ve known he’d take it literally and just say the exact spot; the sidewalk outside the restaurant. My first impression of Blaine was that he was sweet, easygoing, and always ready with a comedic spin. He had gotten a really short haircut in preparation for the date, so naturally I made him take off his hat and show me. Let’s just say the buzz cut might not be his best look! Blaine laughs now that I ordered the margarita at the restaurant by it's given, and somewhat cheeky, name—for which he then ordered the same by just pointing at the menu. The conversation flowed easily and the banter never stopped. I left giddy and super excited for what was to come. Apparently, Blaine felt the same way, because later that night I got a text “meant for his friends” saying he had a great first date with a beautiful girl and wanted to see her again soon. About a year later, he finally fessed up that he sent that text to me on purpose!!!!! But by our third date, just six days after meeting, I knew he was the one.
